Lancaster was founded in 1800, three years prior to Ohio becoming a state.

It is the birthplace of General William Techumseh Sherman, famous Civil War General; and his brother Senator John Sherman, author of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

Their original home is now a museum that you may visit while attending the Gathering.
